Alison Robinette
Social Worker
Alison Robinette has been providing counselling services to adults, youth, and children for over 20 years in Toronto.
Alison’s focus has been around repairing relationships within the family unit as well as supporting individuals struggling with life challenges. Her practice has centered around children and youth mental health (including anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, mindfulness) as well as parent support. Alison has also worked with women and children who have experienced trauma. She uses a trauma informed approach when working with clients.
Alison uses a caring, helpful, and non-judgmental approach with clients. Her priority is to help clients feel safe, supported and understood. When working with children and youth, Alison uses creative interventions and play as this can be an effective window into their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and at times more effective than talk therapy.
Alison has had extensive training in Attachment Theory and its connections to relationships, Trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Emotional Regulation, Mindfulness, and Child Development.
